What does investing money mean?

When I earn money, there is something left over after I subtract all my expenses that I need to live. Instead of putting this leftover money under my pillow, I put it back into the economic cycle. So it’s invested and should yield a return or at least compensate for inflation.

Even without having the experience and knowledge of what it means to invest in the economic cycle, there is the possibility of having your money invested by professional services. For example, from an independent asset management firm(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooNZrvTpIvU). In the (advisory) discussions, you then get an understanding of how it works – what it means to invest and invest money.

Only when this basic understanding is there can you make better decisions about what makes sense for you personally. Because what happens to your money, where you want to put it and how you want to invest it (according to your values, your ethical principles, your time horizon, the profit and the fluctuation intensity) is still your decision. Exactly that

The detailed questions will be solved by us as professionals.

These are the following decisions:

  • Which securities do we buy?
  • Do I go more into fixed income, bonds or fixed rate bonds?
  • Do I buy stocks in the form of ETFs, and if so, which ones?
  • Can I be sure whether an investment is in line with my ethical principles?

We, as a professional securities institution in accordance with § 15 WpIG (German Securities Trading Act), guarantee the client’s requirements in terms of ethics, sustainability criteria, time horizon, and also have the corresponding state licenses to implement this independently, without you having to worry about the details.

Since we have this government approval to be able to buy all securities without the usual additional costs if you were to do it yourself.

In our advisory sessions, we guide you in making decisions about how you want to invest your money. You have the option of selecting 4 different portfolios, each of which differs in terms of fluctuation intensity, your time horizon and the possible return. Here, too, we will work with you to find out which custody account or custody account mix is best suited to your life.

What is a deposit?

A custodial account is where your invested money sits.

In this depot, there is a list of how much money you have invested and where. These individual investments are called securities.

This can be:

  • shares (company participations) and – bonds (promissory notes)

Equity funds Bond funds

Shares ETFs Bond ETFs

Government bonds

corporate bonds, etc

At CATUS AG you can now choose between 4 depot variants. Because it matters when you need your invested funds again. That is, how much time you have to keep your money in the economic cycle, invested.

The longer you give the plant time (e.g. 10 years), the higher the yield will be. If you have a longer time horizon (the time when you don’t actively need your money), you can invest in more volatile securities.

If you know you don’t actively need your money, or part of it, during that time, you can trust that if it goes down, you have the time to wait for it to go back up.

Investments that are subject to fluctuations have a higher earnings potential. That means you’ll make more profit than you would on low volatility investments (return = profit = return) – if the time horizon is met.

That’s why it’s so important to first figure out when you’re going to need the money you invest. You can also divide your money and say “this part I need in 4 years, this in 8 years and this only in 20 or 30 years. Don’t worry, it may sound a lot now, we will find out your needs together and in peace and quiet with you in the consultation.
